Record Retention

Record Retention

State and local governmental agencies are required by law to retain certain records for varying amounts of time. The Indiana Archives and Records Administration website contains information regarding retention policies and procedures for these entities. This website can be accessed at http://www.in.gov/iara.

The Delaware County Commission on Public Records meets once per year as required by statute to determine if the requesting agencies meet the record retention requirement on documents that are considering for destruction or transfer.
