Get Out, Get Active, Get Walking!

 

Join Cardinal Greenway, BSU Recreational Services, Living Healthy, and Purdue Extension for the 2nd annual Walks Across Indiana October 1-7th.

 

Walks Across Indiana is part of the INShape Indiana health initiative and is sponsored by the Purdue Extension, the College od Consumer and family Science, and the Govenor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

 

Locally, groups, individuals, schools, and businesses are encouraged to walk and count your stepsbeginning October 1st.  Then, on Sunday, October 7th, come out for Get Out and Play 5K at the Wysor Street Depot on the Cardinal Greenway.  The run and walk will begin at 1:00 p.m. with pre-registration beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Those participating in the 5K and reporting their steps will have a chance to enter a drawing for one of four canvas bags filled with various goodies from local organizations and merchants.

 

The Get Out and Play 5K is a walk/run coordinated by BSU Recreation Programs.  Registration for the walk and run are required.  The walk is free and there is a $15.00 pre-registration fee ($25.00 day of) for the run.  To pre-register, pick up an application at the Wysor Depot located at 700 E. Wysor Street, Muncie, at the BSU Office of Recreation Services located in Irving Gym room 201, or visit the Cardinal Greenway web-site at www.cardinalgreenways.org and click on the Walk Across Indiana link.
