OF
PUBLIC HEARING


The Delaware County Board of Health will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 13th, 2013, (at 7:00pm) in the Commissioners Courtroom, Room 309, in the Delaware County Building located at 100 W. Main St., Muncie, IN with a regular public meeting to follow at 7:30pm at the same location.


The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on the Delaware County Regional Waste Water District's(DCRWWD) Resolution 2013-01 and how it affects the Delaware County Health Department's approach to enforcement under 410 IAC 6-8.3 and other public health codes in areas of the county that were previously planned to be provided sanitary sewer by the DCRWD for relief from soils rated severe for septic systems and inadequate, not functioning satisfactorily, failing, or failed onsite sewage systems; these areas in Delaware County are commonly known as Cowan, Oakville, Stick City, Beverly Hills, Wheeling, Reeds Station, Brookside, Ponderosa Estates, Corinth Acres, Granville, Hills and Dales, Lost Lake, Sylvan Hills, Country Squire, NIOIO Estates, Mt. Pleasant, Rolling Hills, 360 N and 600 W, Fuson Road, Parkshire Place, New Burlington, Medford, Feltons Addition, Glenn Hills, Pickel, Imperial Village, Maple Manor, Shideler, Nottingham Hills, Pinewood Acres, Maridale Shacklefords, Hickory Place, Harrison Heights, New Burlington Heights, Progress, Crossroads (as identified in 1976 and 1980 study).

 

The DCRWWD Resolution 2013-01 will require a more aggressive one-on-one approach of enforcement from the Delaware County Health Department for dwelling's that have failing onsite sewage systems or onsite sewage systems that do not meet code standards.


A public statement session will be offered. Individuals interested in participating in the public statement session may sign the speaker's schedule prior to the meeting.

A copy of the DCRWD Resolution 2013-01 and 410 IAC 6-8.3 is available at the main office of the Delaware County Health Department.
