Kyle Johnson has served Delaware County for two decades, starting as a planner in the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission in 2001 after graduating from Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, with concentrations in Geographic Information Systems and Landscape Architecture. 

Kyle has a dual role with Delaware County, he is the Chief Information Officer and serves as the Logistics Section Chief for the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency. While he technically oversees the Office of Information and GIS Services coordinates and manages the flow of information between departments and to the public through the county website and social media outlets, and manages and expands the GIS mapping capabilities, web-based applications, and services provided by the county. Kyle is also located in the Emergency Operations Center and is an integrated asset that responds along with EMA to incidents. Kyle has played a support role to EMA for over 20 years and has responded to a variety of incidents including severe winter storms, multiple tornados, and flooding events. Kyle brings GIS and other technologies to the EMA response toolkit and maintains multiple map applications utilized for incident management as well as 911 dispatch and other uses. Kyle developed one of the first web-based GIS rapid damage assessment applications used in the State of Indiana. Kyle also serves on the County Hazmat team and currently serves as the President of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and Vice-Chair of the Emergency Management Advisory Council (EMAC). In his spare time, Kyle is a photographer and enjoys many outdoor activities including fishing, cycling, and hiking.
